5-Axis CNC Routing

At Asheville Thermoform Plastics, our highly-skilled programmers and technicians operate two specifically designed Thermwood 5-axis Computer Numerical Controlled routers, including one with a double table design for maximum part-size capacity, on a wide range of job sizes and styles.  We trim out vacuum-formed parts, produce molds, and other tooling for use in the shop, and offer routing services for composites, thermoset materials and wood products.  Both machines are equipped with a 6-tool automatic tool changers able to rapidly switch among various tools during a single cycle.  CNC programming begins with a CAD solid model and is converted to computer-aided manufacturing CAM software that defines tool paths for trimming and routing.
